The Estonian Chamber of Disabled People is the national co-operation and co-ordination body for the work implemented by and for disabled people in Estonia.
The goal of the Chamber is to facilitate to raising disabled people quality of life in Estonia. For this purpose the Chamber co-operates with governmental bodies and social partners in order to secure that the Estonian legislation and enforcement of the legislation take the disability perspective seriously.
Through social benefits the government compensate the extra costs for disabled people what is occurred because of the need for external help in the daily life. The severity of disability can be reviewed as a result of rehabilitation, use of technical aids, adaptation of housing or other improvement of the situation.
